Harvest (2025)

Graphite on Bamboo & Cotton Paper. 3.1” x 4.1”

Each day, my son and I walk to the nearby park; a haven where I can wander and breathe deeply in the spaciousness of various stands of trees and shrubs. It is an escape within our neighborhood of snug streets and apartments. Meandering through the park, everywhere we look there are squirrels.

As I look down at the brown and golden leaves that the stroller wheels crunch upon, I see hollow acorn heads, with the bulbous nuts missing. Seeing the well-fed squirrels energetically climbing and prancing around, I know they must be the culprits! Tis the time of the harvest for them.
